Birth Control Methods

Intrauterine Device (IUD) is a low maintenance, small T shaped device that is placed in the uterus to prevent pregnancy. This long term, reversible form of birth control can be hormonal or non-hormonal.

The implant (also known as Nexplanon) is a thin rod that is placed in the arm that releases hormones to prevent pregnancy. It may last up to 5 years, and is a very effective form of birth control.

Amongst these birth control methods, there are several others such as birth control shot, vaginal ring, patch, and more that may also be an effective birth control method for you.

Oral contraceptives are the most commonly used of hormonal birth control used in the United States. Typically ingested daily, this pill releases hormones that prevent ovulation and pregnancy.

Female Sterilization (also known as tubal ligation) is a permanent and effective procedure that closes off the fallopian tubes to prevent ovulation.
